Executive Chef
We are seeking a highly experienced Executive Chef to join our team in Funchal. As the head of our culinary department, you will be responsible for creating and implementing menus, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest level of food quality and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and update menus based on seasonal ingredients, customer feedback, and industry trends
- Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations including food preparation, inventory management, and staff scheduling
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and sanitation
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to ensure consistency in food preparation and service
- Collaborate with suppliers to source the best quality ingredients at competitive prices
- Manage food costs by implementing portion control measures and minimizing waste
- Create a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, creativity, and growth opportunities for employees
- Stay updated on industry trends and innovations to continuously improve our menu offerings
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef in a high-volume restaurant or hotel setting
- Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, flavor profiles, and plating presentations
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire kitchen staff
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both customers and team members
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- A passion for food with a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences for our customers
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or related field is preferred but not required
- Experience managing budgets, creating cost reports, and implementing cost-saving measures
- Knowledge of local food regulations and guidelines
Salary: 1500$ per month (negotiable based on experience)
This is a full-time position that may require working evenings, weekends, or holidays. Accommodation can be provided if needed.
