Temporary Executive Chef
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team on a temporary basis in Porto, Portugal. As the Temporary Executive Chef, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the kitchen and menu development, while also ensuring high quality and timely food production. This is a great opportunity for an experienced chef looking to gain experience in a new location and culinary environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Create and develop innovative menu items that meet customer preferences and dietary restrictions
- Manage food inventory and ordering to maintain cost control
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food preparation and cleanliness
- Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment at all times
- Collaborate with other departments (such as front-of-house staff) to ensure seamless service for customers
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef in a fast-paced restaurant or hotel setting
- Proven track record of creating successful menus and managing food costs
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate kitchen staff
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of Portuguese cuisine is preferred but not required
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Salary: $1300 per week (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Porto, Portugal (accommodation can be provided if needed)
