Interpreter (Part-Time)


As an interpreter, you will be responsible for facilitating communication between individuals who speak different languages. You must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in at least two languages, including the ability to accurately convey meaning and tone. You will primarily work on a part-time basis, providing interpretation services for various events and meetings in Utena. Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and efficient interpretation services between individuals who do not speak the same language
- Act as a cultural liaison, ensuring that cultural nuances are accurately conveyed during interpretation
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality while translating sensitive information
- Prepare for assignments by researching relevant terminology and familiarizing yourself with the subject matter
- Work closely with clients to understand their specific needs and provide tailored interpretation services
- Attend various events and meetings in Utena to provide on-site interpretation services
- Collaborate with other interpreters to ensure accuracy and consistency in translation
- Maintain accurate records of assignments, including time spent interpreting and any challenges encountered

Requirements:
- Fluency in at least two languages, including English (written and spoken)
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to convey tone and emotion accurately
- Strong writing skills with the ability to translate complex information into easily understandable language
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, impartiality, and professionalism at all times
- Excellent research skills with the ability to quickly learn terminology related to various subjects
- Availability to work on a part-time basis, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Prior experience as an interpreter or translator is preferred but not required

Salary:
This position offers a competitive hourly rate of 1200$ based on experience.

Location:
This position is located in Utena. While travel may be required for assignments, accommodation is not provided.
