Registered Nurse - Nairobi, Kenya
As a registered nurse, you will be responsible for providing compassionate and high-quality care to patients in a hospital setting. You will work closely with doctors and other healthcare professionals to administer medications, monitor patient progress, and provide emotional support to patients and their families. Your duties will include performing diagnostic tests, maintaining patient records, and educating patients on self-care techniques. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will be essential in building trusting relationships with patients from diverse backgrounds. You must also have a valid nursing license and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting. This position offers a competitive salary of $1500 per month with free visa and ticket for foreign candidates. Accommodation can be provided upon request.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by doctors
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the medical team
- Perform diagnostic tests such as blood pressure checks, blood draws, and wound care
- Educate patients on self-care techniques for managing their conditions
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Collaborate with doctors, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop care plans
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families during difficult times
- Adhere to ethical standards in accordance with nursing best practices
- Continuously update knowledge through attending trainings and workshops
Requirements:
- Valid nursing license from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in other languages is a plus
- Ability to work well in a team environment while also being able to work independently when necessary
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Compassionate nature with the ability to empathize with patients from diverse backgrounds
- Attention to detail for accurate record keeping
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
