Glazier Technician


As a Glazier Technician in Svalbard, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of glass and glazing systems. Your role will involve working with a variety of materials including glass, aluminum, and plastics to create windows, doors, skylights, and other structures.

Responsibilities:
- Measure and cut glass to specified dimensions
- Install glass into frames using putty or other sealants
- Secure glass in place with clips or moldings
- Install aluminum or vinyl frames around glass
- Replace broken or cracked glass panes
- Repair or replace damaged frames
- Cut and shape metal framework for installation of storefronts or curtain walls
- Assist with the fabrication of custom glass pieces according to design specifications
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes

Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Glazier or similar role preferred
- Excellent knowledge of different types of glass and their properties
- Familiarity with various hand and power tools used in glazing
- Ability to accurately measure, cut, and install glass
- Good physical strength and stamina to handle heavy materials
- Attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
- Good communication skills to work effectively with team members
- Ability to work independently without supervision
- High school diploma or equivalent

Salary:
We offer a competitive salary starting at $1400 per month based on experience.

Schedule:
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week. Some overtime may be required based on project demands.

Accommodation:
This position does not include accommodation. Candidates must have their own housing arrangements in Svalbard.

Location:
This position is located in Svalbard, an archipelago in the Arctic Ocean between Norway and the North Pole. The island offers unique natural landscapes including glaciers, polar bears, and the northern lights.
