Librarian vacancy in Svalbard Norway

Senior LibrarianLocation: Svalbard, Norway

As a Senior Librarian at our library in Svalbard, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the library. This includes supervising staff, organizing and maintaining collections, providing reference and research assistance to patrons, and developing programs and services that meet the needs of the community.

You must have a Master's degree in Library Science or related field, as well as at least 5 years of experience working in a library setting. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for this role. Experience with library management systems and digital resources is also preferred.

In addition to these requirements, we are seeking a candidate who is passionate about promoting literacy and lifelong learning, has a customer service mindset, and is able to work independently as well as collaboratively with others. As Svalbard is an international community, fluency in English is required; knowledge of other languages is an asset.

This position offers a competitive salary of $1400 per month, along with accommodation provided. Our company also offers assistance with obtaining a work visa for non-Norwegian citizens.
