Smelter Operator

We are currently hiring a skilled Smelter Operator for a contract position in Bungoma, Canada. As a Smelter Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the smelting equipment to melt and refine metal ores. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in smelting processes and possess the necessary skills to ensure efficient and safe operations.

Responsibilities:
- Operate smelting equipment including furnaces, converters, and casting machines
- Monitor and adjust process controls to maintain desired temperatures, pressures, and flow rates
- Inspect equipment for any malfunctions or abnormalities and make necessary repairs or adjustments
- Monitor the quality of the molten metal and make adjustments as needed
- Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment at all times

Requirements:
- Previous experience in a smelting facility is required
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Knowledge of process control systems and ability to read technical diagrams
- Physically fit with the ability to work in a hot and physically demanding environment
- Good communication skills in English
