Interpreter - Indian Language (Part-Time)
As an interpreter, you will be responsible for facilitating communication between individuals who speak different languages. In this role, you will be specifically working with Indian languages, so fluency in at least one Indian language is a must. This is a part-time position located in Jerusalem, and there is no requirement for English proficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret conversations and written documents from English to an Indian language (Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, etc.) and vice versa
- Ensure accuracy and cultural sensitivity in all interpretations
- Assist with communication between clients and staff members who do not speak the same language
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Work independently or as part of a team depending on the situation
- Be available for occasional urgent assignments
Requirements:
- Fluent in at least one Indian language (Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and the chosen Indian language(s)
- Proven experience as an interpreter is preferred but not required
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to various situations
- Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Must be legally authorized to work in Jerusalem without visa sponsorship
Working Hours:
This is a part-time position with flexible working hours. You will be expected to work approximately 10-15 hours per week. However, there may be occasions when urgent assignments require more availability.
Compensation:
The salary for this position is 1600$ per month.
