Pastry Chef in Eldoret, Kenya
We are a renowned hotel in Eldoret, Kenya seeking an experienced and skilled Pastry Chef to join our team. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing a variety of desserts, pastries, and baked goods for our guests. The ideal candidate should have a passion for creating delicious and visually appealing treats while also maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
Responsibilities:
- Create new and innovative pastry recipes that align with our menu and guest preferences
- Prepare a variety of desserts, pastries, and baked goods according to established recipes
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly measured, and prepared before cooking or baking
- Decorate pastries using various techniques to enhance the presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen at all times
- Train and supervise junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Follow food safety standards to ensure safe handling of food at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a hotel or restaurant setting
- In-depth knowledge of pastry arts, ingredients, tools, techniques, and equipment
- Creative with a keen eye for detail to create visually appealing desserts
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task effectively
- Strong communication skills to effectively train junior staff members
- Degree or diploma in culinary arts or relevant field is preferred
- Must have valid food handling certification
Salary: $1000 per month
