Head Pastry Chef
Our pastry shop in the bustling city of New York is looking for a talented and experienced Head Pastry Chef to join our team. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our pastry department, including menu development, production, and presentation. You will also manage a team of pastry chefs and ensure that our pastries are consistently of the highest quality.
Responsibilities:
- Create and develop new and innovative pastries, cakes, and desserts for our menu
- Manage inventory and order supplies to maintain stock levels
- Oversee the production of all pastries, ensuring consistency in taste, appearance, and quality
- Train and mentor pastry chefs on techniques and recipes
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen
- Collaborate with other departments to create seasonal menus and special event offerings
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-volume establishment
- Knowledge of various baking techniques, equipment, ingredients, and flavor combinations
- Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining a positive work environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Creativity and passion for creating delicious pastries that exceed customer expectations
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
Salary: $1300/month
