Database Administrator


We are in search of a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team in Alta, Norway. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company's database systems. Your main goal will be to ensure the security, availability, and performance of our databases.

Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure and upgrade database software and related products
- Monitor and maintain database systems to ensure data integrity and security
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide resolutions in a timely manner
- Optimize database performance by tuning queries, monitoring disk space, and managing data growth
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies for all databases
- Collaborate with software developers to design efficient database structures for new applications
- Conduct regular tests on databases to identify potential issues or areas for improvement

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Proven work experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of database management systems (DBMS), specifically Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB
- Familiarity with SQL language and programming languages such as Java or C++
- Experience with database security, backup and recovery methods, and data integrity concepts
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues efficiently

Bonus Skills:
- Experience with cloud-based databases such as AWS RDS or Azure SQL Database
- Knowledge of ETL processes
- Certification in Oracle or SQL Server administration

We offer a competitive salary of $1600 per month for this position. Please note that accommodation will not be provided. However, candidates who hold biometric passports are preferred.
