Preservation Architect
A renowned architectural firm in the US is seeking a talented Preservation Architect to join our team. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures while maintaining their original design and character.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research on historical buildings and structures to understand their significance and cultural value.
- Collaborate with clients, engineers, and construction teams to develop preservation plans that adhere to historical preservation standards.
- Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for preservation projects.
- Oversee the construction process to ensure that preservation plans are followed accurately.
- Inspect existing structures for damages and make necessary repairs or recommendations for restoration.
- Coordinate with local authorities to obtain necessary permits for preservation projects.
- Stay updated with current preservation techniques and materials through continuous learning opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in architectural preservation.
- Strong knowledge of historical preservation principles, techniques, and materials.
- Proficiency in architectural software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SketchUp.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Salary: $1400 per month with accommodation provided.
Location: The position is based in the US. However, applicants from other countries will also be considered.
