Seasonal Truck Driver in Svalbard


We are hiring a seasonal truck driver to transport goods in Svalbard, a remote archipelago located in the Arctic Ocean. As a truck driver, you will be responsible for delivering goods to different locations on the island, including remote villages and research stations. This is a physically demanding job that requires long hours of driving on unpaved roads and in extreme weather conditions.

Requirements:
- Valid driver's license for heavy vehicles
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a truck driver
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and procedures
- Ability to navigate using GPS or maps
- Physically fit to handle loading and unloading of goods
- Biometric passport for travel to Svalbard (non-negotiable)
- Willingness to work long hours and be away from home for extended periods of time

Responsibilities:
- Transport goods from warehouses to various locations on the island
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the truck and report any issues or malfunctions
- Ensure safe loading and unloading of goods
- Follow all road safety regulations and procedures
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other drivers
- Keep accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, etc.
