We are hiring a skilled and experienced Librarian to join our team at our library in Faro. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing the library's collection of books, media, and other resources. Your main goal will be to provide excellent customer service to library patrons by helping them find the information they need and promoting literacy and learning.

Responsibilities:
- Organize, catalog, and classify books, media, and other materials in the library's collection
- Assist patrons in finding information and resources they need
- Promote literacy and learning by recommending books and resources to patrons
- Develop and implement programs and activities that encourage reading and lifelong learning
- Provide reference services to patrons by answering questions, conducting research, and locating materials
- Maintain the library's physical space by shelving books, keeping shelves organized, and maintaining a clean environment
- Manage loaning system for materials including checking out items to patrons, tracking due dates, renewing loans when necessary, etc.
- Collaborate with other librarians or organizations to plan events or coordinate programs
- Keep up-to-date with new technology trends in libraries to improve services offered to patrons

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working as a Librarian in a public or academic library setting
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills with ability to work with diverse groups of people
- Knowledge of cataloging systems and library databases
- Familiarity with current technology used in libraries such as online catalogs, databases, e-readers etc.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Fluent in English (Portuguese is a plus)
- Must have own visa for working in Faro or be eligible for an employment visa
