Junior Librarian


We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Librarian to join our team at the Faro Public Library. As a Junior Librarian, you will be responsible for assisting with library operations, including circulation, reference services, and programming.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with the daily operations of the library, including shelving and organizing materials, maintaining displays, and helping patrons with check-out and returns.
- Provide reference and research assistance to patrons, including locating materials and answering informational questions.
- Assist with planning and implementing library programs for all ages.
- Help maintain the library's online catalog and databases.
- Collaborate with other staff members to develop new initiatives and improve services.
- Stay up-to-date on current trends in literature, technology, and library services.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working in a library setting is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Familiarity with library systems such as Dewey Decimal Classification or Library of Congress Classification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

This is an entry-level position ideal for recent graduates or those new to the field of librarianship. The salary for this position is $1600 per month.
