Head Chef: Fine Dining - Oslo, Norway
As the Head Chef of our fine dining establishment in Oslo, Norway, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operations. This includes menu planning, food preparation and presentation, kitchen staff management, and ensuring high quality and consistent food standards. You will work closely with the restaurant manager to create a unique dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and create menus that showcase seasonal and local ingredients
- Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure high quality food preparation and presentation
- Monitor inventory levels and order necessary supplies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with front of house staff to provide excellent customer service
- Manage food cost and labor cost to meet budget targets
- Develop new dishes and update existing menu items based on customer feedback
- Attend management meetings to discuss restaurant operations
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef in a fine dining establishment
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience in a reputable restaurant
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, flavors, and ingredients
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of food cost control measures
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure
