Database Administrator

Our company is in search of a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator to join our team in Svalbard. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing our company's databases. This is a part-time position with accommodation provided and free visa and ticket for non-residents. We welcome freshers who have a passion for database management and are looking to gain practical experience in the field.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor database performance and optimize as needed
- Troubleshoot any database issues or errors
- Develop and implement backup and recovery plans
- Ensure data security and integrity
- Create and maintain documentation of database processes
- Collaborate with other team members to improve overall system performance

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Database Administrator
- Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g. MySQL, Oracle)
- Experience with data backup, recovery, and security protocols
- Proficient in SQL programming language
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g. AWS, Azure)
- Certification in database administration (e.g. Oracle Certified Professional)
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
