Entry Level Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level Database Administrator to join our team in Os, Norway. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our company's databases to ensure efficient and accurate data storage and retrieval. This is a contract position, making it an excellent opportunity for students or individuals without prior experience in database administration.

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues that may arise
- Develop and implement database backup and recovery plans
- Collaborate with other teams to gather data requirements and design efficient database structures
- Perform regular maintenance tasks such as updates, backups, and security checks
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy by performing regular data audits
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in database management

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
- Strong knowledge of SQL databases (e.g. MySQL, Oracle)
- Familiarity with database management tools (e.g. SQL Server Management Studio)
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with different teams

Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with databases or SQL languages
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Java or Python
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
- Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g. AWS, Azure)
