Sous Chef
As a Sous Chef at our prestigious restaurant in Fonvieille, you will play a crucial role in our culinary team. We are seeking an experienced and passionate chef to assist our Head Chef in creating and executing delicious and visually appealing dishes. This is a full-time position with a salary of 1500$ per month.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and development
- Train, supervise, and motivate kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Oversee the operations of the kitchen during the absence of the Head Chef
- Ensure that all food is prepared according to recipes and presented consistently
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Adhere to food safety standards and regulations
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant setting
- In-depth knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Ability to lead, train, and manage kitchen staff effectively
- Creative mindset with excellent presentation skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or equivalent training from a reputable institution
- Experience working with French cuisine
- Understanding of financial aspects such as cost control and budgeting
