Executive Chef
We are seeking a talented Executive Chef to lead our kitchen team in our upscale restaurant located in the heart of New York City. As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for creating and executing unique and high-quality dishes, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring overall customer satisfaction. Your creativity, leadership skills, and passion for culinary excellence will be essential to the success of our restaurant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and execute innovative and high-quality menus that reflect the seasonality and cultural diversity of our city
- Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation
- Train, mentor, and manage kitchen staff to ensure consistent quality of dishes
- Monitor food inventory levels and order supplies as needed while minimizing waste
- Collaborate with management team to develop cost-effective menus while maintaining high quality standards
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in the kitchen
- Foster a positive work environment by encouraging teamwork and open communication among staff members
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant setting
- Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop unique dishes that appeal to a wide range of customers
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high quality standards under pressure
- In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations in a commercial kitchen setting
Qualifications:
- Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional certification preferred
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Sous Chef or 2 years experience as an Executive Chef in an upscale restaurant setting
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Salary: $1500 per week
