Contract Turner for Metal Fabrication Company in Nairobi

We are a leading metal fabrication company in Nairobi seeking a skilled Turner to join our team. As a Turner, you will be responsible for operating lathes and other machinery to shape and cut metal parts according to precise specifications. This is a contract position with the potential for future full-time employment. Accommodation and visa sponsorship will be provided for non-local candidates.

Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate lathes, grinders, and other machinery to shape and cut metal parts
- Read blueprints, diagrams, or work orders to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished pieces
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to ensure accuracy of finished pieces
- Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or errors and make necessary adjustments
- Inspect finished pieces for quality, making any necessary repairs or adjustments
- Maintain machines by cleaning, oiling, and performing routine maintenance tasks

Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Turner in a metal fabrication setting
- Proficient in reading blueprints and using precision measuring tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with tight tolerances
- Good mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot machine issues
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Must have strong communication skills

Salary: $1500/month (negotiable based on experience)

Location: Nairobi (accommodation provided)
