Indian Chef


We are seeking an experienced and skilled Indian Chef to join our team in Bungoma. As an Indian Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing traditional Indian dishes, as well as developing new and creative recipes. You should have a passion for cooking and a deep understanding of Indian cuisine.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of traditional Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori items, biryanis, and more
- Create new and innovative recipes while maintaining the authenticity of traditional Indian cuisine
- Ensure all dishes are prepared to high standards of quality and presentation
- Manage kitchen operations and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations
- Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper food handling practices
- Collaborate with management to develop menus, plan events, and create special dishes for promotions or events

Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Indian Chef, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or hotel setting
- In-depth knowledge of Indian cuisine, including different regional styles and spices
- Ability to create new recipes while staying true to traditional flavors and techniques
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train other kitchen staff members
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely preparation of dishes without sacrificing quality
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certification is a plus
- Minimum of 3 years experience as an Indian Chef
- Fluent in Hindi; proficiency in English is preferred but not required
- Must have authorization to work in Bungoma

Salary:
Starting salary for this position is $1100 per month, with potential for growth based on performance and experience.
