Preservation Architect
Our prestigious architecture firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Preservation Architect to join our team in Washington, DC. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving historic structures and buildings by conducting research, creating preservation plans, and overseeing restoration projects. The ideal candidate will have a degree in architecture, at least 5 years of experience in preservation work, and extensive knowledge of historic building codes and regulations. This is a contract position with the possibility of visa sponsorship. Candidates with experience working on projects in Washington, DC are preferred. Salary is $1300 per week.
As our Preservation Architect, you will:
- Conduct thorough research on historic structures and buildings
- Develop preservation plans that meet all necessary codes and regulations
- Collaborate with clients and project teams to ensure successful restoration projects
- Provide technical expertise on preservation techniques and materials
- Stay up-to-date on industry standards and best practices for preservation work
- Travel to project sites as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in preservation work
- Extensive knowledge of historic building codes and regulations
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in CAD software is preferred
