Indian Executive Chef in Nakuru, Kenya



As an Indian Executive Chef in Nakuru, Kenya, you will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations and creating delicious and authentic Indian cuisine for our customers. We are looking for a talented and experienced chef to join our team and bring their expertise to our restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and create menus that feature a variety of Indian dishes to cater to different tastes and dietary requirements
- Source quality ingredients and manage inventory to ensure freshness and minimize waste
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment according to health and safety standards
- Manage food costs by monitoring portion sizes and minimizing waste
- Create new recipes or modify existing ones to keep the menu fresh and interesting
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, reporting any issues or malfunctions immediately
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery

Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of authentic Indian cuisine with experience in preparing a variety of dishes
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a chef in an upscale restaurant or hotel setting
- Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management skills
- Attention to detail in food presentation
- Knowledge of health department regulations
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in culinary arts or related field
- Previous experience as an Executive Chef or Sous Chef
- Experience working in an international setting

Salary: $1800 per month
