Head Chef - Almada, Portugal


We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in Almada, Portugal. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for creating and executing our menu, managing inventory and ordering supplies, and maintaining high levels of food quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop creative menus that reflect the local cuisine and cater to diverse dietary requirements
- Manage all aspects of food preparation, including portion control, plating presentation, and food cost
- Supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service hours
- Train new team members on proper cooking techniques and food safety guidelines
- Create schedules for kitchen staff to ensure proper coverage during busy periods
- Collaborate with suppliers to source fresh, high-quality ingredients at the best prices
- Maintain accurate inventory records and order supplies as needed
- Implement proper sanitation procedures in the kitchen to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met
- Ensure compliance with all health codes and regulations

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff effectively
- Excellent communication skills to work closely with other team members and suppliers
- Ability to manage inventory, order supplies, and control food cost effectively
- Familiarity with local cuisine in Almada is preferred but not required
- Fluency in Portuguese is required

Salary:
We offer a competitive salary of 1300$ per month based on experience.
