Pastry Chef for Fine Dining Restaurant in Lisbon
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team at a fine dining restaurant in Lisbon. As the Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and executing all pastry and dessert items on our menu, as well as managing the pastry kitchen and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute creative and visually appealing dessert menus that align with the restaurant's concept and standards
- Prepare all pastry items, including cakes, pastries, breads, and other desserts according to recipes and specifications
- Ensure exceptional quality of all pastry items by maintaining high standards of food presentation, taste, and texture
- Manage inventory and ordering of pastry ingredients, supplies, and equipment
- Train, supervise, and schedule pastry kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
- Monitor food costs, waste management, and portion control to maintain profitability
- Adhere to all sanitation regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a fine dining restaurant setting
- Extensive knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, equipment, baking methods, flavors combinations, etc.
- Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Creative mindset with an eye for aesthetics that can translate into visually stunning desserts
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with other departments
- Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, holidays
