Sous Chef at a Fine Dining Restaurant in Faro, Portugal
We are seeking an experienced and creative Sous Chef to join our team at a highly acclaimed fine dining restaurant in Faro. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee the daily operations of the kitchen and ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standard.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and cost management
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to maintain high levels of food quality and presentation
- Oversee food preparation and cooking to ensure consistency and adherence to recipes
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to provide exceptional dining experiences for guests
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-end restaurant or hotel
- In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques and ingredients
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Education/Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or equivalent training preferred
- Food safety certification
- Proficient in English (Portuguese language skills are a plus)
Salary: $1200 per month (negotiable based on experience)
