Librarian - Vilnius


As a Librarian in Vilnius, you will be responsible for managing and organizing the library's collection of books, periodicals, and other materials. Your duties will include cataloging materials, assisting patrons with locating resources, and maintaining the library's online database. You will also be responsible for managing the circulation of materials, processing new acquisitions, and enforcing library policies. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills and a passion for providing exceptional customer service to library patrons.

Responsibilities:

- Manage and organize the library's collection of books, periodicals, and other materials
- Catalog materials using appropriate software
- Assist patrons with locating resources and providing research assistance
- Maintain the library's online database and ensure accurate record keeping
- Manage circulation of materials including checking out items to patrons and processing returns
- Enforce library policies to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all patrons
- Process new acquisitions by organizing and adding them to the collection
- Plan and coordinate community events such as book clubs or author visits
- Conduct information literacy classes for students or community groups

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Previous experience working in a library setting is highly desirable
- Proficiency in using library cataloging software is required
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to work well with diverse groups of people
- Knowledge of current trends in libraries and information management
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed

Salary: $1500 per month (negotiable based on experience)

Location: Vilnius (no English language requirement)
