Database Administrator - Faro, Portugal

As a Database Administrator in our fast-growing company, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our databases to ensure optimal performance and data security. You will work closely with the development team to identify and implement new database technologies and strategies to improve efficiency and accuracy. Your role will also involve monitoring database activity, troubleshooting issues, and developing backup and recovery procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor database performance on a daily basis and proactively identify and address any issues that may arise
- Develop backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime
- Collaborate with the development team to design, implement, and maintain new databases as needed
- Troubleshoot database issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions
- Stay up-to-date on emerging database technologies and make recommendations for their implementation in our systems
- Manage access control to databases to ensure data security
- Create documentation for database processes, procedures, and configurations

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of SQL and database management systems (MySQL, Oracle)
- Experience with database design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with backup and recovery processes
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
Salary: $1000 per month

Preferred:
- Experience with cloud-based databases (AWS RDS)
- Knowledge of programming languages (Java, Python)
City: Faro
