Executive Chef - Malindi, Kenya
We are hiring an experienced Executive Chef to oversee our kitchen operations at a luxury resort in Malindi, Kenya. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for creating and executing menus, monitoring food costs and quality, managing kitchen staff, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. This is a full-time position with a salary of $1200 per month.
Responsibilities:
- Create seasonal menus that showcase local ingredients and cater to guests' preferences
- Monitor food costs and maintain budgetary requirements
- Train and manage kitchen staff on proper food preparation techniques and safety standards
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen to meet health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction
- Source ingredients from local suppliers to support sustainability efforts
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques into menu offerings
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-end establishment
- In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, menu planning, and food cost control
- Ability to lead and manage a team in a fast-paced environment
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop new menu items that cater to diverse tastes
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Knowledge of local ingredients and willingness to support sustainable practices
- Fluent in English with strong communication skills
This position is open to candidates of all nationalities but Pakistani chefs are preferred. No English language skills required for this role.
