Head Chef

The role of Head Chef at our 5-star resort in Malindi is a prestigious and demanding position. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced chef to oversee the culinary operations of our resort. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating delicious and innovative dishes, as well as strong leadership skills to manage and motivate our team of chefs.

Responsibilities:
- Plan and design menus that are both appealing and cost-effective
- Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all dishes
- Train and supervise all kitchen staff, ensuring high quality standards are met
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations
- Create new dishes and modify existing ones to keep menus fresh and exciting
- Collaborate with other departments to plan special events or themed nights

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-end resort or restaurant setting
- In-depth knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and cuisines
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with staff at all levels
- Attention to detail with a focus on quality control
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in menu planning, budgeting, and cost control
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Education/Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or related field is preferred
- Extensive experience may be accepted in lieu of formal education

Salary: $1200 per month

City: Malindi, Kenya (Preferably Indian or Malayalee candidates)
