Part-Time Librarian (Al-Malikiyah, Syria)


We are seeking a highly organized and knowledgeable Part-Time Librarian to join our team at the Al-Malikiyah Public Library. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to library patrons, maintaining the library's collection, and assisting with various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service to library patrons, including assisting with book recommendations and locating materials
- Manage the circulation desk, including checking in and out materials, collecting fines, and issuing library cards
- Maintain and organize the library's collection by shelving books, reshelving returned items, and ensuring materials are properly catalogued
- Assist with collection development by recommending new materials for purchase
- Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure accuracy of the library's collection
- Assist with organizing and promoting library programs and events
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and updating patron records

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field (preferred)
- Previous experience working in a library or similar setting (preferred)
- Knowledge of cataloging systems and database management
- Excellent communication skills and ability to provide outstanding customer service
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficiency in Arabic language (preferred)

This is a part-time position with flexible working hours. The salary for this role is 1200$ per month. Please note that this position does not come with accommodation or visa sponsorship.
