Preservation Architect
We are searching for a skilled Preservation Architect to join our team in Lisbon. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures. Your main duties will include conducting historical research, developing preservation plans, and overseeing construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct historical research on buildings and structures
- Develop preservation plans that comply with local laws and regulations
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure successful execution of preservation projects
- Monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with preservation plans
- Conduct site inspections and document any changes or damages to the historical structure
- Provide recommendations for maintenance and repairs of historical buildings
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and government agencies regarding preservation projects
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in historic preservation projects
- Knowledge of local laws, regulations, and building codes related to historic preservation
- Experience working with contractors and other professionals in the construction industry
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Historic Preservation or similar field
- Professional license as an Architect
- Experience conducting archival research
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or other architectural software
