Network and Systems Administrator

The Network and Systems Administrator will be responsible for the overall maintenance, administration, and security of the company's network and systems in Funchal. This role requires a skilled professional with experience in managing network infrastructure, servers, and security systems.

Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and other networking equipment
- Install and maintain server operating systems, applications, and hardware
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Ensure data backup and disaster recovery plans are in place and regularly tested
- Implement security measures to protect against cyber threats
- Manage user accounts and permissions for network access
- Stay up-to-date with new technologies and recommend upgrades or improvements as needed
- Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex technical issues

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred
- Proven experience as a Network or Systems Administrator
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP), LAN/WAN technologies, VPNs, etc.
- Experience with Windows or Linux server administration
- Familiarity with virtualization technology (VMware)
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently
- Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
-Networking certifications such as CCNA or CompTIA Network+
-Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification
-Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure
