Executive Chef
The Executive Chef will oversee all aspects of the kitchen operations in our restaurant in Eldoret, ensuring high-quality food and exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for food and creativity, and the ability to manage a team effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
- Create menus that meet quality standards and drive profitability
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers
- Ensure proper sanitation and safety standards are maintained in the kitchen
- Order supplies and manage inventory to meet budgetary targets
- Collaborate with management to develop new dishes and menus
- Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency
- Implement cost-saving measures without sacrificing quality or guest satisfaction
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role
- Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a team effectively
- Creativity in developing new dishes while staying true to our restaurant's concept
- Familiarity with sanitation regulations and safety standards in a kitchen environment
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or related field is preferred
