Executive Chef
We are seeking an experienced and creative Executive Chef to join our team at a high-end restaurant in Lisbon. As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen, from menu creation and food preparation to managing the kitchen staff and ensuring high-quality dishes are served to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for culinary excellence, exceptional leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities:
- Create innovative menus that align with the restaurant's concept and meet customer preferences
- Oversee food purchasing and inventory management to ensure quality ingredients are always available
- Train, mentor, and manage kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Monitor food production costs and maintain profitability through effective cost control measures
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations in the kitchen at all times
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations between the kitchen and dining area
- Continuously strive for improvement in food quality, presentation, and service standards
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques into menu offerings
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a fine dining establishment
- Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, menu development, and food cost control
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills to effectively work with other departments within the restaurant
- Attention to detail with a focus on maintaining high levels of quality in all dishes served
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed
Salary: $1200/month (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Lisbon, Portugal (Portuguese nationality preferred)
