Foundry Technician
As a Foundry Technician in Eldoret, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining foundry equipment, ensuring quality control of castings, and participating in the production process. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting any equipment issues and making necessary repairs, as well as maintaining a safe work environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to follow strict safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain foundry equipment such as furnaces and melting pots
- Monitor production process to ensure quality control of castings
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and make necessary repairs
- Follow strict safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment
- Maintain accurate records of production data and materials used
- Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals
- Identify areas for process improvement and make suggestions for implementation
- Assist with training new employees on foundry processes and procedures
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a foundry or similar environment
- Strong understanding of foundry processes and equipment operation
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Physically able to stand for long periods of time, lift heavy objects, and work in hot environments
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow strict safety protocols
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Team player with excellent communication skills
