Librarian - Full Time (Eldoret, Kenya)


We are seeking a highly organized and knowledgeable Librarian to join our team in Eldoret, Kenya. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our library collection, providing research assistance to patrons, and promoting library resources and programs.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and organize the library's collection of books, periodicals, and other materials
- Ensure all materials are properly cataloged and shelved according to library classification system
- Assist patrons with research needs by guiding them in the use of library databases and resources
- Help patrons locate materials within the library or through interlibrary loan services
- Plan and promote library programs such as book clubs, author visits, or workshops
- Maintain accurate records of library materials, circulation statistics, and patron usage
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop new resources or improve existing services
- Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to enhance library services

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
- Knowledge of cataloging systems such as Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress Classification System
- Familiarity with electronic databases and information retrieval systems
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills with ability to assist diverse patron population
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Salary:
This is a full time position offering a salary of 1600$ per month.

This job is suitable for men who have at least 2 years experience working as a librarian. We welcome applicants from all nationalities who meet the above requirements. English proficiency is not required for this position.
