Head Chef for Indian Cuisine in Salalah
A renowned restaurant in Salalah is seeking a skilled and experienced Head Chef specializing in Indian cuisine. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen, from menu planning to food preparation and staff management. Our ideal candidate should have a strong background in Indian cuisine and a passion for creating delicious and authentic dishes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and design menus that showcase the diversity of Indian cuisine
- Oversee food preparation, ensuring high quality and consistency
- Train and manage kitchen staff, including scheduling and performance evaluations
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area to meet health and safety standards
- Collaborate with other team members to create new dishes or improve existing ones
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques into menu items
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef specializing in Indian cuisine
- Extensive knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a team
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Attention to detail with a focus on quality and presentation of dishes
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years experience working in a professional kitchen
- Fluent in English; knowledge of other languages is an advantage
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends
Salary: 1500$ per month (negotiable based on experience)
