Pastry Chef

Our luxury hotel in Mombasa is seeking a talented and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing delectable desserts, pastries, and baked goods for our guests. Your creativity, attention to detail, and passion for the art of pastry making will be key in creating memorable dining experiences for our guests.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-end hotel or restaurant
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
- Knowledge of various baking techniques and pastry decoration
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Fluent in English (knowledge of other languages is a plus)
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Responsibilities:
- Create new and innovative pastry dishes that align with our menu offerings
- Prepare all desserts, pastries, breads, and other baked goods with precision and attention to detail
- Oversee the production of all pastry items during service hours
- Ensure quality control standards are met at all times
- Train junior pastry chefs on proper techniques and recipes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen area
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed
