Head Chef
We are hiring a skilled and experienced Head Chef to join our restaurant team in Funchal, Portugal. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and cooking of all dishes, creating new menus and recipes, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest quality of food is served to our customers.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef in a high-end restaurant
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification
- Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage and train kitchen staff
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in English (Portuguese language skills preferred)
Responsibilities:
- Plan, create, and update menus based on seasonal availability and customer preferences
- Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations including food preparation, ordering supplies, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Train, supervise, and motivate kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow
- Ensure food quality standards are met consistently by conducting regular inspections and tastings
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed within budget constraints
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow and customer satisfaction
- Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising on quality
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and techniques to continuously improve menu offerings
Salary: $1500 per month (negotiable based on experience)
