Indian Chef in Mombasa
We are seeking a skilled Indian Chef to join our team in Mombasa. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating authentic and delicious Indian dishes, while ensuring high levels of quality and presentation. Your role will also involve supervising kitchen staff, managing inventory and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes according to traditional recipes and customer requests
- Train, supervise and support kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
- Monitor food inventory levels and place orders as needed
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in the kitchen
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times
- Collaborate with management to develop new menu items or specials based on customer preferences or seasonal ingredients
- Manage food costs by minimizing waste and portion control techniques
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Indian Chef or Cook, preferably in a restaurant setting
- Extensive knowledge of traditional Indian cuisine, spices, cooking techniques and presentation styles
- Ability to lead and train kitchen staff effectively
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in a commercial kitchen setting
- Good communication skills with fluency in English
- Must be an Indian national or have extensive experience working with Indian cuisine
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Salary: 1300$ per month
