Head Pastry Chef

As a Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the pastry department in our luxury hotel located in Funchal. You will use your creativity and attention to detail to create and implement new pastry menus, as well as train and manage a team of pastry chefs. Your role will involve planning and organizing daily operations, ensuring quality control, and maintaining a high level of cleanliness in the pastry kitchen.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. The ideal candidate should have a passion for pastries and desserts, as well as the ability to stay updated with current trends in the industry. You must also have excellent communication skills to effectively lead and mentor your team.

Responsibilities:
- Create innovative pastry menus that align with our hotel's standards
- Train, supervise, and motivate pastry chefs to ensure top-quality production
- Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Ensure proper handling of all food products according to health codes and standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area
- Collaborate with other departments to meet guests' special requests or dietary needs
- Keep up-to-date with new techniques, recipes, ingredients, and trends in the pastry industry
- Oversee budgeting and cost control within the department

Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role
- Culinary degree or equivalent qualification
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor others
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Flexible schedule (including weekends and holidays)

Salary:
We are offering a competitive salary package of 1500$ per month based on experience.

Location:
This position is located in Funchal, a beautiful city on the island of Madeira, known for its stunning scenery and delicious cuisine. Relocation assistance may be provided for the right candidate.
