Reference Librarian

The Reference Librarian will play a vital role in providing research and information services to library patrons. They will assist patrons in finding and accessing information through a variety of resources, including books, databases, and online resources. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as strong research abilities. They must also be comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds and be able to adapt to changing technologies in the library field.

Responsibilities:
- Provide reference services to library patrons by helping them locate and access information
- Assist patrons in navigating the library's physical and digital collections
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the library's resources in order to effectively assist patrons
- Teach patrons how to use online databases and other digital resources
- Promote library services and resources through outreach programs
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop new services or programs for patrons
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and advancements in the field of librarianship
- Create helpful research guides for specific topics or subjects

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field
- Prior experience working as a librarian or in a customer service role preferred
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent research abilities using both traditional and digital sources
- Familiarity with various computer systems, databases, and online resources commonly used in libraries
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others on projects
- Flexibility to adapt to changing technologies and methods of information retrieval
Salary: $900/month (negotiable)
Location: Nairobi, Kenya (open to candidates from Egypt or Canada)
