Barista

A fast-paced and dynamic cafe in Lisbon is seeking a skilled Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will be responsible for creating delicious coffee drinks, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a barista, strong knowledge of different coffee brewing methods, and exceptional communication skills. This role offers a competitive salary of $1200 per month, along with accommodation and visa sponsorship for non-EU nationals. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold coffee drinks to customers
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through friendly and efficient service
- Maintain a clean and well-stocked work area
- Educate customers about our menu offerings and make recommendations based on their preferences
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other equipment to prepare beverages
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures when handling food and beverages
- Handle cash transactions accurately
- Collaborate with team members to ensure prompt service during busy periods

Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a barista or similar role
- Knowledge of different brewing methods such as pour-over, French press, etc.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with customers in a friendly manner
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time during shifts
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
- Must have legal authorization to work in Portugal (visa sponsorship available)
