Heavy Equipment Operator

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of heavy machinery, such as bulldozers, excavators, and cranes. Your main duties will include inspecting equipment for safety and functionality, performing routine maintenance and repairs, and operating machinery to move earth, gravel, or other materials. You will also be responsible for coordinating with other crew members to ensure safe and efficient operations. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to work in outdoor conditions. Previous experience with heavy equipment operation is preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy machinery in a safe and efficient manner
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues as needed
- Follow safety protocols at all times
- Coordinate with team members to complete tasks efficiently
- Inspect work site for potential hazards before beginning work
- Operate machinery to move materials as directed by supervisor
- Maintain accurate records of work hours and tasks performed

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Minimum of 2 years experience operating heavy equipment
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and instructions
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in outdoor conditions
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others

Preferred:
- Experience operating specific types of heavy machinery (bulldozers, excavators, cranes)
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record

This is a contract position with a salary of $1600 per month. The job location is in Almada, but candidates from other cities in Portugal will also be considered.
