Head Pastry Chef



We are currently seeking an experienced and talented Head Pastry Chef to join our team in Kaunas, Lithuania. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our pastry department, including creating new menus, managing inventory and budgets, and training and supervising junior chefs. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in pastry arts and possess excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities:
- Develop new pastry menus and recipes that align with our restaurant's concept
- Manage inventory and ordering of ingredients to ensure freshness and minimize waste
- Create schedules for pastry team members and delegate tasks effectively
- Train junior chefs on proper techniques and recipes
- Monitor food quality to maintain high standards of taste, presentation, and consistency
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service times
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality ingredients are sourced at competitive prices
- Stay updated on current food trends in the industry

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Pastry Chef or similar role
- Extensive knowledge of various pastry techniques, including baking, decorating, chocolate work, etc.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate a team
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Creativity in developing new pastry menu items while also following established recipes accurately
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations
- Degree or certification in culinary arts is preferred
Salary: 1800 USD per month (negotiable based on experience)
