Gardening Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Gardening Specialist to join our team in Malindi, Kenya. As a Gardening Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining and beautifying gardens and landscapes for our clients. This is a contract job with a salary of $1700 per month.

Responsibilities:
- Designing and planning garden layouts based on client preferences and site conditions
- Planting flowers, trees, and shrubs according to proper spacing and maintenance requirements
- Maintaining garden beds by weeding, mulching, pruning, and fertilizing as needed
- Installing and maintaining irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants
- Identifying and treating plant diseases or pests as necessary
- Regularly inspecting plants for signs of stress or damage and taking appropriate action
- Mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and performing other general landscaping tasks as needed

Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience in gardening or landscaping
- Knowledge of plant types, growth habits, care requirements, and common diseases/pests in the region
- Ability to operate gardening equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, shovels, etc.
- Physical fitness to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions
- A biometric passport or ability to obtain one if not already possessed

Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working with clients from different cultural backgrounds
- Experience using sustainable gardening practices such as composting or rainwater harvesting
