Job Title: Librarian Assistant


We are in search of a detail-oriented and organized Librarian Assistant to join our team at a public library in Almada. As a Librarian Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the library and ensuring that patrons have an enjoyable and efficient experience. This position is open to candidates of all nationalities who possess a valid biometric passport.

Responsibilities:
- Assist patrons with locating materials, checking out books, and using library resources
- Organize and maintain library collections, including shelving books, cataloguing new materials, and processing returns
- Create engaging displays and promote library events to increase patron involvement
- Provide basic reference services by answering questions and directing patrons to appropriate resources
- Assist with technology support for computers, printers, and other equipment
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative programs and services for the community

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Experience working in a library or customer service environment is a plus
- Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office and database systems
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English (Portuguese is also desirable)
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Attention to detail and ability to organize tasks effectively

Salary:
We offer a competitive salary of $1400 per month for this full-time position.
