Reference Librarian

As a Reference Librarian, you will be responsible for providing information and reference services to library patrons in the city of Al Ahmadi, Kuwait. You will assist users in locating and accessing resources, whether physical or digital, and aid them in conducting research. Your main duties will include answering reference questions, creating and maintaining bibliographies, organizing and promoting library events and programs, and instructing users on how to use library equipment and resources effectively. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection of reference materials, ensuring that they are up-to-date and relevant.

To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field. Previous experience as a Reference Librarian is preferred but not required. You should possess strong communication skills to effectively assist patrons of all ages and backgrounds. Attention to detail is essential as you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of reference transactions. Additionally, knowledge of online databases and research methods is highly desirable.

This is a full-time position with a salary of $1300 per month. As this job is specifically open to Indian nationals living in Al Ahmadi without an English language requirement or accommodation provided, it is important that you are fluent in Hindi or another Indian language. You must also have a valid visa that allows you to work in Kuwait.
